2 babies 2 bottles....both are happy

We have had a busy few days as our time in Virginia winds down. I have finished the last of my clinical duties and now I am off to hang out with mom and Rosie. Kelly and Nik came down for 3 days for a visit and we had a lot of fun. We played in the pool, went to the downtown mall, went to Carter mountain orchard and Jefferson vineyards. Charlotte has been being good as well which is an extra bonus.

Charlotte also had her 6 week doctors appointment. She weighed in at a very respectable 9lbs 8 oz and she has grown over a pound and a half since her last appointment. That doesn't surprise us too much as she eats milk non-stop. She did get 4 vaccinations (take that Jenny McCarthy) which consisted of one oral medication and 3 shots. The picture above shows her about 4 minutes after her shots. I wanted to do a video of the actual shots but Carissa wouldn't let me. Currently we are at the beach with Uncle Dave, Aunt Lorie and Cameron. We will include some pictures soon.

6 weeks old

6 weeks old...well acutally 6 weeks and 2 days because Mommy and Daddy are lazy

Slumber party....first we'll get drunk on the white stuff and lay in bed and talk about boys

In this picture I'd like to debut my new sweatpants. They have beer mugs all over them and they are great for high kicking! Just kidding...this picture is all about Rosie's first bikini.

Carissa and Charlotte hanging out with Naomi at Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Randy contemplating if he's ready for a baby.....hmmmmm

Carissa showing Charlotte off to her students

Well just wanted to give everyone another update about Charlotte. She is now 6 weeks old and has been very active. We finally think we're starting to see some "real" smiles and not just gas grins. The 6 week photos shows what she has been doing with big open mouth smiles when she sees her mom. This last week she has went to journal club and met my friends. She also went to the elementary school where Carissa volunteers and met all of her students. Last night we met up with friends Naomi and Randy and they got to help out and hold her through dinner. Most importantly we have been preparing for our Outer Banks trip this week and bought some chairs, an umbrella, and most importantly a bikini for Charlotte. Now all we need is one of those gigantic goofy hats that all kids wear at the beach (and some zinc for her nose).

P.S. I heard that my mother and law has been getting irked that I keep putting her face on different fruits and vegetables. Well I would like to apologize and say that I will stop editing her face on fruits or veggies anymore.

More Photos

Double trouble for Big Jon.

Stick 'em up babies....this here's a robbery. Just kidding this is Charlotte meeting her new baby friend Lilly Harnois.

Careful girls...these boys are taken...and they have baby baggage

Charlotte is a pretty pretty princess...a hungry pretty princess!

Babies with babies! Could this picture get any cuter...answer is yes if they were all wearing clothing made out of puppies, kitties, and baby seals.

We just wanted to include a few more pictures of Charlotte and the family during our recent visit to Amish country, USA. We had such a great time it was hard to put all the pictures into just one post. We have also had so much positive feedback about that beautiful carrot from my last post that I decided to treat you all to a few more fruits and veggies. Enjoy below:

One Month Birthday

4 weeks old already? Where did the time go?

Charlotte at a Memorial Day picnic at the Carlberg's House. She sat with Uncle Jerico and experienced what may be her first beer-but it definitely won't be her last.

Liz and Anna meeting Carissa and Charlotte in Baltimore. Doesn't Charlotte look a giant?

More babies- this time meeting up with Brandy and Delaney in Strasburg

Lock up your sons....look at these 5 hot L-S girls

Looks like Anna is covering her ears-Charlotte may just have ripped one of her patented super loud farts. It was Anna's fault for pulling that right arm.

Sorry for the long time between updates. I don't really know who I'm apologizing to, because I am fairly certain my mother is the only person who really reads this blog. So, sorry mom. We have had a ridiculously busy few weeks. Charlotte has passed a number of milestones including turning 4 and 5 weeks. Although, she still can't walk and cries a lot. We went to a memorial day picnic and hung out with a number of residents. We then decided kind of last minute to drive up to Strasburg to see "Grammy Wimer" and "Grampy Dougy". While, we were in PA we got to meet up with a number of Carissa's aunts, uncles, friends, and family friends. We had a a picnic for Charlotte on Saturday and it was quite a hit. She received a number of generous outfits and gift cards which we want to thank everybody for. We then went over to Marietta, PA to go to Andrea Diller's birthday party (Happy Bday again). We got to see her house, and meet up with Sara and Meghan which was great.

On Sunday, we went to a party at Carissa family friends Lou and Kathy's house. It was a great time, they hand a band and a cooked an entire pig. We hung out for the afternoon and then shot down to meet up with Liz and Steve (my co-resident and fellow Daddy) down in Baltimore, Md. We got to see their new addition Anna Miller Tropello who came into the world about one month before expected. She is doing great and has already been home for a few days and we just couldn't get over how tiny and cute she was. All of a sudden we felt like Charlotte was enormous after seeing Anna. We hung out there until early evening and then came home to Virginia and Charlotte got to experience the Crap-tastic wonder that is the D.C. Beltway. We made it safely through the first 2/3 of the trip until we got hung up in Orange County, VA. I, being a moron, got picked up for going way too fast on some rinky dinky road. My lovely copilot in the car and life had crawled to the backseat to pump and my precious baby was sleeping. Unfortunately Carissa put "the goods" away and Charlotte stayed well behaved, so neither could get me out of the ticket. Fortunately, I did not get a reckless driving (Go me!) and we were home right around midnight. It felt great to be back. Now we are all just getting ready for vacation to the Outer Banks in a week. Charlotte is currently doing a fairly rigorous P90X ab routine with hopes of fitting into her first bikini by next friday.

P.S. I almost forgot to mention the coolest part. As you all know Strasburg, PA is the Amish capital of the USA. This is mostly awesome but occasionally can be disastrous. As Jackie was minding her own business getting into her car a run away buggy came racing down the road with no Amish driver. The horse decided to jump the curb at the last minute and run up on the sidewalk and ran into Carissa's mother. Thankfully, Jackie was alright and just got spun around by the horse and then her arm hit the buggy. She did have some bruises and her car had a great deal of body damage to the passenger side. But the real mystery is what made the horse jump up on the curb and come barreling down on Jackie Groff? Maybe this picture below sheds some light on what the horse saw while it was running.

Hope all is going well for all who are reading (AKA mom)
